[The Breakfast Table] Short Order Breakfast for the Political Junky

Emailed By Ender

A quick breakfast table for the hardcore political posters. Run it from Monday, October 30, through Election Day. Of course, it’s a buffet, but to kick things off, a menu of how each participant follows politics—what they read, what they watch, what they listen to—and how that translates into a balanced diet of news and opinion.

This blog is currently a rough draft. If the Breakfast Table is a go, I’ll complete the customization. No need to sign up for blogger. Participants will email their entries in, and top post them in The Breakfast Table fray (easy peasy).

Was that what you meant? Not sure if I emailed/linked to the right place....

I like Dawn's lineup, if they'll play. Maybe add TheBell or TQM? RunNumbers would be good, to come at it from the economy standpoint.

But I have a question. We've got plenty of political junkies who hang out by both white lines on this blogging about this. Why can't we hear from some people who aren't OTF? The ones huddled by the dotted yellow line in the middle trying to figure out what to do here?

Maybe I'm the only one who'd read it. I don't know.

Anyone know any raging moderates?

My problem is I'm up to arse in alligators and some arse up the hill keeps shouting we need to drain the swamp.

IE7 and Firefox 2.0 are making my life a living heck, combined with the project their launch Charlie Foxtrot has now shredded.

I can't promise a decent amount of participation.

dawn: IOZ reads like he's at the big kids' table now. I miss the guy too. For what it's worth, I'd love to see him and Ducadmo have a knock-down drag-out. I like them both, but for such different reasons.

MsZ: (Off the Fray? On the Fringe?) And the thing about moderates...we don't rage.

Ender: neither did this site at first. I'm less crazy about the idea, but only because I'd be (even more) useless in pure politics. But I think most of the defectors to WTS so far have been raging moderates.

So good luck and stuff. I think it's another good idea.

Sorry. OTF = 'Out There Flapping'

I was thinking of doing something similar -- I was going to throw out a topic each Sunday that we would all chime in on. Next week might be the midterms. This week might have been the Wolrd Series and baseball. Oscar week it might be the movies, etc.

Moderates unite! Moderation at all cost! I believe in the essential value of political gridlock. So, let's have at it.
