5. (How) Should I promote Wag the Slate?

Although Wag the Slate is a blog, we’re not going to behave like a blog as far as self-promotion is concerned. The fact of the matter is, we’re already a large community (the fray), so we don’t have to engage in the usual blog rolling, enemy’s lists, commenting and linking to other blogs. That’s not to say you can’t, just that it’s not necessary. What you can do is promote Wag the Slate in the fray on a regular or occasional basis. You can do this passively by, for example, signing your fray posts with a link to Wag the Slate.

Or you can be proactive, and top post about Wag the Slate in your home fray, or directly mention Wag the Slate to one of your favorite posters who you’d like to see contribute.

The idea being we regularly/occasionally promote Wag the Slate to the fray just as Slate promotes the fray to its readers. So, if you’re so inclined, remember to creatively mention Wag the Slate in the fray.
